Senegal forward, Nicolas Jackson, has surpassed Chelsea legend Didier Drogba's first-season goal tally after scoring in the Blues 2-0 victory over Tottenham on Thursday.

Jackson has received massive criticism for being wasteful in front of goal this season, with fans unhappy with his first-season output.

However, the former Villareal star seems to be discovering his goal-scoring form after netting his 11th of the campaign against Spurs.

He now beats legendary forward Drogba's first-season tally by one goal in the Premier League, with four games remaining to end the campaign, per FootballTalkHQ.

While Jackson netted 11 goals in 31 appearances, Drogba scored 10 in 26 matches with the former having four assists to his credit. Drogba provided five assists in his maiden campaign in the Premier League.

Jackson will be hoping to add a few more goals to his numbers before the season ends.

Meanwhile, the victory over Tottenham keeps Chelsea's hopes of a European place finish alive with four games remaining although the UEFA Champions League is out of reach, per Live Score.

Jackson vows to improve Chelsea numbers

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Senegal forward Jackson vowed to improve his numbers after netting his 11th Premier League goal against Tottenham on Thursday.

Jackson sealed victory for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge after netting his side's second in the 2-0 win. Trevoh Chalobah had opened the scoring in the first half.

The former Villareal star has four matches to add to his tally for Chelsea in his first campaign in England.

Jackson ends goal drought against Tottenham

Sports Brief also reported that Jackson scored against Tottenham to end his mini-goal drought as the Blues strolled to victory on Thursday night.

Jackson brought his three-game dry spell to an end by extending Chelsea's lead against their London rivals.

Having missed an earlier opportunity to open the scoring, Jackson capitalised on a rebound after Cole Palmer's thunderous free-kick rattled the crossbar, slotting home to put the Blues in a comfortable lead.
